There are some nice connections between planets coming up in the next few days. Astrologers have been looking forward to April 20 as one of the biggest game-changers in 2024. Jupiter, which has a 12-year cycle, meets up with Uranus, which has an 84-year cycle. They will conjoin in the sign of Taurus which covers matters of values, money, art, self-esteem and Love. Expansive Jupiter combined with electric, innovative, future-oriented Uranus could bring into focus a new currency, invention, technology or travel mode. Uranus events are often sudden and surprising. The combination can feel quite euphoric and Jupiter can also overdo it. Big ideas are great, but its best to sleep on it, at least for a little while. Moon in Virgo this weekend tends to put duty first and can get bogged down in the details. Just know that the last time Jupiter and Uranus met up in Taurus was 1941. So take the win, celebrate, feel the spaceous energy – remember gratitude.
Mars is in the sign of Pisces. The planet of action is into his feelings in Pisces. Anger, desires, feeling like a victim…validate whats coming up for you, then move on. Mars is lighting a fire under those subconscious rumblings. Dont just live with a vague grumpiness. Use the time to examine whats inflamed. Mars can represent the blood, infection or interloper, while Pisces is hidden, secret and opaque. Whats going on behind the scenes? On May 1st he will enter Aries, his home turf. That will be a great time to initiate things, get moving, work the unit.
Back to the here and now, still working on our feelings, mars is opposing Black Moon Lilith. Lilith is a geometric point to do with the relationship between earth and the moon. She represents the empowered female creative, mature, emotionally evolved. Her opposition to mars might be that dialogue in your head, rehearsing whos bad and wrong or whats off in your world. This last part of April is a really good time to get that negative, stuck, victim stuff outa your system. Black Moon Lilith has strong intuition. She is on your side and tells you the hard truth. Shes in Virgo, which could be a health issue. We are all toxified, lets face it. Lilith is also about choices and that is the one power you always have. The Martial Arts are a really good way to express Mars in Pisces. Its taking conflict into a higher octave. Are both parties in it to learn? Is ego getting in the way? Mr. Miagi would say to sidestep. Stay safe, let your opponent wear himself out.
The most important reason not to quit your job without thinking it through, is because Mercury is retrograde until April 25th. In my experience, it often happens that things done, bought, agreed to, signed during Mercury retrograde end up needing to be done over again. This can sometimes work to your advantage. Or maybe it cant be helped, so you make sure you read the fine print and listen to your intuition. Mercury is doing a busy little dance, backwards through the fiery sign of Aries, touching all those eclipse points, soon to contact venus. Venus is money, belongings, valuables. Mercury retrograde with venus might have you reconsidering that recent purchase or perhaps recovering a lost item. Then on April 23 mercury contacts the north node on the same day as Full Moon in Scorpio.
Metaphorically, the north node is the Head of the Dragon, while south node is the tail. As we spin, hurtle, orbit through space, the North node of our collective chart of the moment represents the direction we are going, the future, the goal, the unknown while the south node is the road already travelled. On an eclipse, the nodes are very closely aligned with the sun and the moon. The more aligned, the more exact is the eclipse. Today, the nodes still carry the energy of the recent eclipse. The impact and waves of energy from it will be unpacking for a few months at least. Currently they are in the pair of signs Aries/Libra, simply put: self/other. The focus has been on relationships and cooperation since July 2023.
So Mercury retrograde on the full moon (a time of revelation, illumination, culmination) makes contact with the collective subconscious intention. Actually mercury is very close to becoming stationary and moving again in direct motion. The stationary position is especially potent, like the sun through a magnifying glass.
Where are we going? Do we have an intention? Full moon in Scorpio is often intense. What is deep and hidden comes into the light of day. Many of us are pretty weary of the tough, tough last few years and ready for the transformational death/rebirth experience that Scorpio does best.
Mercury retrograde can be a little stinker, but this month, he has timed his journey very well. Mercury is the mind, the message, the idea. When retrograde, he can bring forward subconscious or forgotten thoughts. The full moon on April 23rd is at 4:48 pm here in the Pacific Northwest. When mercury goes direct on April 25th, he is still in contact with the north node, still leading the way with fresh new ideas.
